Investment Management

An innovative wealth management firm.

As an independent registered investment advisor, we provide objective advice to our clients using a transparent, client-aligned, fee-based model. Unlike many other types of advisors, we have a fiduciary duty, or fundamental obligation, to act in the best interests of our clients. That means we have a legal obligation to always act in your best interest. Brokers and hybrid RIAs are not obligated to act in your best interest and can sell investment products for commissions.

Our Investment Approach

As our clients accumulate wealth, their needs, challenges, and the advice they require often increase in complexity.

As a multidisciplinary firm, OJM can integrate investment management services with a client’s overall wealth plan by providing access to our team of specialists with expertise in asset protection, tax reduction, corporate structure, and benefit planning. As part of our fiduciary duty, OJM offers investors:

TAILORED ADVICE

It is essential that your wealth advisor truly understands you, your goals, and your unique situation. Through frequent interaction and communication, your OJM wealth advisor works with you to evaluate investment options and develop a customized strategy to meet your long-term financial goals. Our independence from any investment product is fundamental to our fiduciary duty to offer wealth management advice that is in the best interest of each client we serve.

TRANSPARENT FEE STRUCTURE

Our investment management fee is based on a percentage of assets managed. This fee structure is transparent, easy to understand, and aligns our firm’s goals with those of our clients.

SAFEGUARDING OF ASSETS

We use institutional custodians, such as Charles Schwab® and TD Ameritrade®, to safeguard clients’ assets. While independent of these third-party firms, OJM leverages a strong relationship with the custodians to enhance the level of service we deliver to our clients. Through the OJM Investment Management team, our clients are seamlessly connected to current information about assets in all segments of their portfolios and can easily direct trades and other transactions as needed.

INSTITUTIONAL APPROACH

OJM uses a pension and endowment approach to money management for the individual investor’s portfolio. This institutional approach seeks to minimize the effects of market volatility by utilizing alternative investments as part of a customized blend of wealth management strategies determined by our clients’ risk tolerance and long-term financial goals.

Qualified Retirement Plans and IRAs

Qualified retirement plans (QRPs) and IRAs offer both short and long-term wealth accumulation benefits. OJM Group has reviewed or implemented qualified plan designs for numerous companies and professional practices throughout the country and we are well-versed in profit-sharing plans, 401(k)s, traditional pension and defined benefit plans, and all types of IRAs.

OJM can serve as a co-fiduciary for a QRP and remains independent of the plan’s third-party administrator (TPA) and recordkeeper.

Our team offers a complimentary QRP analysis through an independent benchmark study, providing a fundamental first step toward prudent QRP management and peace of mind for employers. The audit can alert business owners and plan administrators to issues within their QRPs, including:

  • Overpayment of fees for recordkeeping, third-party administration and/or investment advisory services.
  • Potential conflicts of interest between your TPA and in-house investment advisor.
  • A fund lineup that is too expensive or lacks flexible options for participants.
  • Absence of a co-fiduciary to share potential liability for plan management and performance.

What is Your Risk Score?

Our free online questionnaire will only take a few minutes to complete and can help us discover your personal tolerance for risk and set investments accordingly.
